Tips When Commissioning

These are all OPTIONAL tips. You do NOT need to read or follow any of these when commissioning me.

These are just ideas and tips that don't necessarily apply to every type of commission. I took the time to make this to give you some ideas and make the process smoother and easier for everyone!

1. If you have one, send me your reference sheet unshaded.

For more complex designs, shaded reference sheets can sometimes be a little harder to work with. If possible, you can ask the artist who made your reference sheet for an unshaded version.

Example:

2. If you have them, send me more artwork of your character besides the reference sheet.

When sending me references of your character, it is always helpful to have additional artwork besides the reference sheet. Not only can I see the character from different angles, but it also helps me get a better feel for the character's personality and overall vibe.

Example:

3. Draw a very rough doodle

You can draw your idea very roughly on paper, in a drawing program, or wherever you want! It can be as simple as stick figures, circles, or arrows showing where the characters or objects should go.It doesn't need to include perspective, anatomy, or any details. Even a very rough doodle can help me visualize what you have in mind!

Example:

4. Send me image references.

For specific poses, you can look for pictures on Google or Pinterest and send them to me. And give me any additional information if necessary.

Example:

5. Let me know if your character has a specific body type.

I am generally flexible when it comes to different body types! I can draw characters that are more muscular, chubby, kemono, and more.If your character has a specific body type, feel free to send me references. Here are some examples of different body types I've drawn.

Example:

6. Send me images for clothing or accessories.

If your character has specific clothing, accessories, objects, or other items that you want me to draw, feel free to send me pictures of them. You can use Google Images or your own pictures. Just let me know if you want something similar to the reference or if you want that exact object as it appears in the picture.

Example:

7. Send me a color HEX code or a screenshot when asking me to change a specific color.

When requesting a color change, I recommend sending me a color HEX code instead of just telling me "blue" or "green." There are MANY different shades and tones of each color. You can also send me a screenshot or another visual reference if that's easier.

Example:

8. For corrections, draw over my drawing :D

When asking for certain corrections, it can be helpful to draw over my drawing to show me what you have in mind. This isn't necessary for every correction, but for some changes, it can be more precise and helpful!
